Principal’s message

The Principal addressing parents on a Parents' day

Nyagwethe secondary School is one of the newly established secondary schools in Kenya. It was established in 2005 by the Community with a total enrolment of 29 students comprising 23 boys 6 girls. The school was started at the local super market belonging to Pini Franco an Italian national working under the Catholic parish of Tonga who from then on has been an active sponsor of the school through the Pini Franco Association of Italy. The school moved to its present location in the same year.

The foundation stone was laid by the current Board of Governors chair Mr. Patrick Obondo together with the Area Chief Mr. Hedmond Odoro and the then Area Councillor Mr Okumu Maengo.

We aim to provide quality education for our students, in which Christian values and virtues are shared and lived by all. We work to provide committed teaching, giving due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum. Our school offers a secure and caring environment where there is equality of opportunity for each student to realize his or her potential.

We seek to enable students to grow in independence and to have respect for themselves and others. Students are encouraged to aim for the highest standards of behavior and to foster an awareness of moral and social values.

We aim to nurture citizens this century who recognize the need to participate in a caring and responsible way for the sustainability of our world.
